June 8, 2004 Storm Chase |  Central NE garbage not worth recycling!

Tuesday, June 8: Targetted very close to where I already was...North Platte!  Hung out in the local library for a good chunk of the afternoon (where were all the other chasers?) and then stuck around the War Memorial as TCu began to build overhead.  Interestingly, the stationary front nudged south through the city and dropped the temp from 93F to 75F in a short period of time w/strong northerly winds confirming the passage.  It seemed forever until a Cb organized northeast of the city and moved to the northeast, but from what I observed it never exhibited any structure of interest (i.e. crisp convection, circular base, visible inflow bands, etc.).  It quickly dropped some small hail, but something was missing today other than the weak H5 flow.  Very disappointing overall, so I went back to North Platte for a motel while a SVR cell developed near McCook late, but it didn't catch my interest per radar trends at the motel.
