June 15, 2002 Storm Chase in Central WI | Cold Pocket Convection

One of the features that I look forward to during late spring and early summer in the Great Lakes region is a nice cold core low to briefly invade the area.  What makes this fun is the erratic nature and behavior in which the pulse storms develop.  This day was no exception and I wouldn't have to drive far since the axis of coldest H5 temps would be near my location just past 18Z.  Though nothing overly severe occurred (some .75" hail, 50mph+ gusts), the cells provided some neat photo opportunities as seen below.  The chase area was from east of Oakfield, then southwest to near Waupun.
